China Aerospace Corporation Develops the Country’s First and Largest Spinning Machine

Recently, an expert team from the China Aerospace Corporation’s First Academy, Factory 211, conducted a preliminary acceptance review of the CZ3000/2 CNC spinning machine produced by the Seventh Academy’s Factory 7102.

This machine is the largest spinning processing machine independently developed in China. It is capable of forming cylindrical, conical, hemispherical, and other curved-line parts from materials such as aluminum alloys, stainless steel, and zirconium oxygen-free copper, meeting specific product process requirements for both cold and hot spinning. The equipment weighs 110 tons, with a maximum single-wheel spinning pressure of 400 kN and a maximum processing diameter of 3 meters. The machine features good stability, ease of operation and maintenance, and reliable safety. It is the first device to utilize high-end supporting technologies such as online product tracking measurement systems, SpinCAD, and CAD/CAM graphic programming software developed independently on the UG platform. The project took one and a half years from initiation to successful development.

The experts, adhering to the technical agreement, reviewed the equipment’s performance parameters, technical documentation, re-measured the precision parameters, and provided on-site training for operators. They highly praised the factory’s design ideas and manufacturing capabilities, stating that all indicators of the equipment fully meet the technical agreement requirements. They signed the preliminary acceptance report on-site, confirming that the equipment is ready for delivery.

CNC spinning machines are a new process equipment in the field of metal forming technology with significant technical challenges, featuring chipless and cold-state forming capabilities. Factory 7102 is one of the leading manufacturers in China engaged in the development of spinning equipment and research into spinning processes, ranking among the top in the country. The successful development of this equipment fills the gap in multifunctional, large-tonnage spinning equipment in China, ending the history of relying on imports for large-tonnage high-end spinning equipment.
